Into Africa Begins

Today the founding team of Deborah and Jacob Shimkus leave for Kenya to begin the Into Africa Campaign. They will be joining Kenya Keys for a week and a half in the village of Taru. Check back for updates

Powershift Linfield

So this blog hasn't been very active.. But that's okay! I want you all to know that some of us at Linfield are putting on an event very similar to Powershift West. We're calling it Powershift Linfield and it will be on February 26th and 27th. Hello Beautiful People!

Welcome to the forum! This is what we've decided to start with, because we haven't been able to create a website forum yet. So here is a blog. Everyone who wants to contribute should sign up to become authors, and then you will be able to post anything you want. The way that the sections will work is that when you're posting, put a label in the bottom post. The label for this is Misc because I don't really know where it should fall. I'm thinking if we use consistent labels, then that should categorize people's posts. The labels i have in my head right now are Misc, Ideas, Events, Projects, and Organizations/Programs. I also think it would be cool to have a label called Stay Here or something, and anyone who is interested can put their email and where they live (just town, not entire address) and that way when people are traveling, they can contact people and have places to stay if they need it. If you have anymore ideas, let me know!

My vision for this space is, like I said in the tag line, to have a place for people to connect with other people who are into the same things. I want it to be a space to share ideas, concerns, issues, events, and basically anything and everything you care to. We are all fairly close in proximity, but when we get caught up in our daily lives, it is hard to make the time to step outside your schedule and keep commitments to keep in touch. So this is the place to do that!

Please be respectful of all people, opinions, and ideas. There is enough fighting in the world, we do not need it here. That being said, do not be afraid to stand up for what you say and believe. Positive energy only : )
